A Hypotonia Warrior

Skylar has always been our soft-hearted little princess. She was born at 36 weeks while her daddy was away on military orders. At 4 months old, we realized she was not as healthy as other children her age. By the time she was a year old, we saw many delays but didn’t realize she was falling through the cracks at her doctor’s office. After moving to San Antonio, Skylar fell very ill and was hospitalized for over 20 days. During this time, she was evaluated and monitored by many doctors that have changed her life. She now has a fantastic team of doctors and surgeons who work to keep her as healthy as they can. Skylar was able to get a g-tube to get her the nutrients she had been missing since she was a baby. She also is now able to attend therapies to help with her muscle tone, body control, and developmental delays. After many hospital stays and surgeries, she will be graduating kindergarten this year.
