Maria Eloise
A Trisomy 18 Angel
Our beloved warrior, Maria Eloise, was diagnosed with Trisomy 18 at 11 weeks gestational. Like many other parents given this news, we were told that she wasn’t expected to make it to term. You always hear the saying, “Live every day like it’s your last,” and that couldn’t have been more true for our daughter. We cherished every moment because we didn’t know when it would be the last time. It made the journey that much more special.
Maria Eloise entered this world on May 5, 2023. She was 3 pounds 7 oz and was 20 inches long. The most beautiful things we had ever laid eyes on. She had the most beautiful eyes and had a head full of curly hair. She loved to be held because it would calm her down. She was very observant and always looked around at who was in the room, tending to her. She definitely had princess treatment because that’s exactly what she was–a princess.
Maria Eloise gained her heavenly wings on May 18, 2023, just 13 days later. During her time with us, she brought so much joy to everybody who met her in person, in videos, or in pictures. So many people had prayers coming her way and ours. She was an answered prayer to many and brought people closer to God and each other through faith and prayer. She has left an impact that will continue forever. We know she continues to be a light for many and forever the warrior she was meant to be.
