A Trisomy 18 Angel
Keslyn Joy was a miracle from the very beginning. Born weighing 2 lbs and 13 oz and diagnosed with Trisomy 18, she entered this world with a strength and purpose far greater than what we could have imagined. She was our answer to prayer. We prayed to meet her, to tell her how deeply we loved her, and to treasure each day that we could with her.
Keslyn was a precious gift to all who knew her. There was something heavenly in her presence, as if she carried a piece of eternity within her. She radiated a joy that could only come from Heaven, with a quiet confidence that she knew her Jesus and He was the source of her strength. He was with her in every moment, weaving good into her story even on the hardest of days, and using her life to bring us closer to the One who created her.
Keslyn adored snuggling with her Daddy, laughing with her Mama, and learning sweet things from her Granny. She loved the sunshine on her face and listening to the music of the world. Every sound filled her with wonder. From birds chirping to lullabies, each note brought a new smile. Her favorite song was “Jesus Loves Me,” and the moment it began, her eyes would sparkle, her smile would grow, and her tiny feet would kick with delight.
Keslyn changed the world by simply being herself. She did not need to speak a word to change lives. She taught us what it truly means to count it all joy and to see the beauty all around us. She taught us to love bigger, smile more often, and cherish even the tiniest of miracles.
Now she is in Heaven. Full of joy. The kind she carried within her here. Her smile shining brighter than before. Though our hearts ache without her, we hold tightly to the promise that we will see her again. Until that day, we carry her joy with us. She is, and will always be, the greatest gift we have ever received. Forever our miracle. Forever our Keslyn Joy.
