A Skeletal Dysplasia Angel

Katherine Nan Koinzan was born on March 18, 2022, at 9:40 p.m. She knew nothing but love and passed peacefully in her mother’s arms just an hour later.

At 20 weeks, Katherine was diagnosed with a life-limiting form of skeletal dysplasia. We knew her time on earth would be short, but we also knew her life would leave a lasting impact.

She had a head full of strawberry blonde hair and two older siblings who loved her dearly. From the very beginning, she’s made her presence known through butterflies—our sweet little winks from heaven that remind us she’s still with us.

Every time we see a butterfly, we know she never truly left. She is always in our hearts.

Katherine has continued to shine her light in this dark world. We will keep sharing her story so that no other family feels alone in theirs.
