An Esophageal Atresia Angel

Edyn Evermore Almanza was a precious soul, born as part of a set of triplets at just 32 weeks gestation. Her arrival was filled with both joy and concern. Shortly after birth, doctors discovered she had esophageal atresia, a condition where the esophagus does not connect to the stomach.

Because of this, Edyn was transferred to another hospital, where a g-tube was placed to help sustain her while she awaited surgery to repair the gap.

Tragically, Edyn’s journey became even more complicated when she was diagnosed with Necrotizing Enterocolitis (NEC), a severe intestinal condition. She also developed a stomach infection at her g-tube site that would not heal.

Despite her incredible strength and the deep love surrounding her, Edyn passed away at just 17 days old on November 8, 2024, before she could make it to the day of her surgery.
