Marlee

A D-Bifunctional Protein Deficiency Angel

After 13 years of infertility and various fertility procedures, we were blessed with our precious daughter, Marlee Grace! She was born at 37 weeks, weighing 4 lbs 12 oz. Her first 3 months of life were spent in 3 different hospital NICUs, along with surgery for a G-tube, before being discharged home. During her lengthy NICU stay, she was diagnosed with a rare genetic disorder called D-Bifunctional Protein Deficiency. The following year was spent with countless hospital admissions, weekly therapy sessions, and monitoring by numerous medical specialists on her team. Unfortunately, she passed away in September 2024 at almost 16 months of age. We have comfort knowing that her first steps were into the arms of Jesus and that she is completely healed of this rare disease. Marlee loved bamboo pajamas and lived in them daily! Laree + Co. pajamas were a blessing to us as they helped make hospital admissions more comfortable. The 3-zipper pajamas quickly became a favorite for everyday wear as they assisted with running leads to monitors, accessing her G-tube, and making changes easier. Marlee's medical team was always eager to see which bamboo pajamas she was wearing at appointments and while admitted. Bamboo pajamas were definitely her signature look!
